About The Position

LabCorp is seeking a PRN Hospital Phlebotomist to join its team at Thomas Hospital in Fairhope, Alabama. In this role, you will provide customer service, perform specimen collections, and represent the company to patients. Opportunities for continuous growth within the organization are available.

This is a casual/PRN position. Typical hours are Monday through Friday, 10:30 p.m. to 7:00 a.m., with a requirement to work two weekends per month. Schedule and hours will vary based on business needs. Travel to additional sites may be required.

Requirements

• High school diploma, GED, or equivalent.
• Phlebotomy certification, completion of a phlebotomy training program, or at least three months of phlebotomy experience.
• If using certification or training in lieu of work experience, it must be from an accredited agency.
• Proven track record of providing exceptional customer service.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to work independently or in a team environment.
• Comfort working under minimal supervision.
• Reliable transportation.
• Ability to work overtime.
• Ability to pass a standardized color blindness test.

Nice To Haves

• At least one year of phlebotomy experience.

Responsibilities

• Perform blood collections by venipuncture and capillary techniques for patients of all age groups.
• Collect specimens for drug screens, paternity tests, alcohol tests, and other purposes.
• Enter patient information accurately and promptly.
• Process billing information and collect payments as necessary.
• Prepare collected specimens for testing and analysis.
• Maintain patient and specimen information logs.
• Provide superior customer service to patients.
• Perform administrative and clerical duties as necessary.
• Travel to additional sites when needed.
