About The Position

Camber Connect is hiring an Intake and Care Coordinator to serve as a primary point of contact for individuals and partners in crisis. The coordinator manages incoming calls and referrals, helping ensure children, youth, and adults receive timely, accurate assessments for psychiatric-care placement or diversion to appropriate outpatient services. The role involves high-volume telephonic intake, crisis de-escalation, coordination with internal teams and external stakeholders, and work across digital platforms. The position is fully remote after a minimum of two weeks of in-person training. Candidates must be local to the Kansas City area. The schedule is 2:00 PM to 12:00 AM, Thursday through Sunday, at $18.00 per hour.

Requirements

• Must be at least 20 years of age.
• A bachelor’s degree in Social Work, Psychology, Education, Sociology, Counseling, or Criminal Justice is preferred; a high school diploma with at least two years of relevant crisis management or intake coordination experience may be considered.
• Valid driver’s license and auto insurance.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Teams, Word, Excel, and Outlook.
• Technological savvy and ability to manage multiple systems and digital tools simultaneously.
• Candidates must be local to the Kansas City area.

Nice To Haves

• At least two years working with at-risk youth or economically disadvantaged populations.
• Proven experience in crisis intervention and de-escalation techniques.
• Familiarity with trauma-informed care and EHR systems.
• Bachelor’s degree in Social Work, Psychology, Education, Sociology, Counseling, or Criminal Justice.

Responsibilities

• Manage high-volume telephonic intakes and coordinate placement into open beds with precision and urgency.
• Use trauma-informed care principles to de-escalate callers in crisis, including guardians and referral partners.
• Multitask across digital platforms, including Electronic Health Records (EHR) and Microsoft 365.
• Collaborate with internal teams and external stakeholders to communicate clearly, professionally, and compassionately.
• Troubleshoot independently in a remote setting using electronic resources and cloud-based tools.
