About The Position

Heartstrings Pet Hospice is hiring a compassionate veterinarian to provide hospice and in-home euthanasia care to pets and their families in East Bay communities, including Oakland, Berkeley, and Richmond, California, and the surrounding metropolitan area. Care is delivered in clients’ homes, allowing veterinarians to spend time listening, explaining options, and helping families provide dignified, peaceful goodbyes. Veterinarians practice independently while receiving onboarding, one-on-one mentorship, and support from experienced colleagues. Schedule options include five-day and four-day full-time arrangements, as well as two- and three-day schedules and self-managed part-time DVM Flex-Scheduling. Guaranteed compensation ranges from $65,000 to $150,000 depending on schedule, with quarterly bonus opportunities for the stated full-time schedules. Weekend work is arranged by the veterinarian, who chooses four weekend days per month.
