About The Position

Heartstrings Pet Hospice is hiring a compassionate veterinarian to provide hospice and in-home euthanasia care to pets and families in their homes across The Woodlands, Spring, Conroe, Texas, and the surrounding metropolitan area. The role focuses on providing unhurried, dignified end-of-life care, answering families’ questions with kindness, and helping them say goodbye in a peaceful and supportive setting. The veterinarian practices independently while traveling to appointments, with onboarding, one-on-one mentorship, and support from experienced colleagues. Schedules are available from two to five days per week, including self-managed scheduling options. Compensation is guaranteed and ranges from $65,000 to $155,000 depending on schedule, with quarterly bonus opportunities. The posting describes five-day and four-day schedules as full-time and offers prorated compensation for two- and three-day schedules, including part-time options.

Requirements

Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (DVM), VMD, or BVMS degree.
Valid U.S. driver’s license.
Ability to lift up to 50 pounds unassisted and up to 90 pounds with assistance.
Complete license verification, a background check, and a driving record review before the start date.

Responsibilities

Provide hospice and in-home euthanasia care in clients’ homes.
Spend time listening to families, explaining care, answering difficult questions, and supporting dignified end-of-life decisions.
Practice independently while traveling to appointments.
