About The Position

Heartstrings Pet Hospice is seeking a compassionate veterinarian to provide hospice and in-home euthanasia care to pets and their families in Katy, Cypress, Fulshear, Richmond, Sugar Land, Texas, and the surrounding metropolitan area. The role focuses on helping families through end-of-life decisions and goodbyes in the comfort of their homes, with time to listen, explain options, and provide dignified, compassionate care. The position offers mobile, independent practice with onboarding, one-on-one mentorship, and access to experienced colleagues for support. Veterinarians can choose a five-day or four-day full-time schedule, or two- and three-day schedules with full-time or self-managed part-time options. Compensation is guaranteed and ranges from $65,000 to $155,000 depending on schedule, with quarterly bonus opportunities. Weekend days are selected by the veterinarian: four weekend days per month, chosen to suit their schedule. The employer does not require a non-compete agreement.

Requirements

Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (DVM, VMD, or BVMS).
Valid U.S. driver's license.
Ability to lift up to 50 pounds unassisted and up to 90 pounds with assistance.
Complete license verification, a background check, and a driving record review before the start date.

Responsibilities

Provide hospice and in-home euthanasia care to pets in their homes.
Support families through end-of-life decisions and goodbyes with compassion, kindness, and dignity.
Explain care and options to families and answer their questions.
Practice independently while using available mentorship and team support.
Choose four weekend days per month to work.
