About The Position
Heartstrings Pet Hospice provides compassionate hospice and in-home euthanasia care for pets in the comfort of their homes. The veterinarian serves families in Fort Lauderdale, Sunrise, Pompano Beach, Hollywood, and surrounding areas, helping them navigate end-of-life decisions and say goodbye with dignity and peace. The work is designed to allow time for listening, answering questions, and supporting families, with a few appointments per day and no double-booking or rushed visits. The veterinarian practices independently while traveling to appointments, with onboarding, one-on-one mentorship, and experienced colleagues available for support. The position offers schedule options ranging from two to five days per week, including self-managed scheduling. Compensation varies by schedule and includes quarterly bonus opportunities. Heartstrings does not require a non-compete agreement.
Requirements
- Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (DVM, VMD, or BVMS).
- Valid U.S. driver’s license.
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds unassisted and up to 90 pounds with assistance.
- Complete license verification, a background check, and a driving record review before the start date.
Responsibilities
- Provide hospice and in-home euthanasia care to pets in clients’ homes.
- Support families through end-of-life decisions and help them say goodbye with dignity and peace.
- Listen to families, explain care and options, and answer their questions.
- Practice independently while traveling to appointments.
- Coordinate a schedule that fits the selected work arrangement.
