About The Position
James River Hospice is seeking a compassionate and experienced Hospice RN to provide after-hours hospice nursing care in Richmond, Virginia. The role responds to patient needs, completes assessments and admissions as needed, and coordinates with the interdisciplinary team to provide care for patients and families. The schedule is Monday through Thursday, 5 PM to 8 AM. The position offers a salary range of $85,000–$105,000. Requirements
- Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in Virginia.
- Minimum of one year of hospice nursing experience.
- Graduate of an accredited nursing program.
- Valid driver's license and reliable transportation.
- Strong assessment and communication skills.
- Ability to work independently during overnight on-call hours.
Responsibilities
- Respond to after-hours patient calls and provide nursing visits as needed.
- Complete initial patient and family assessments to determine hospice needs.
- Perform hospice admissions as assigned.
- Develop and update individualized plans of care.
- Provide pain and symptom management.
- Monitor, document, and report changes in patient conditions.
- Collaborate with physicians and the interdisciplinary team.
- Obtain physician orders as needed.
- Coordinate care with LPNs and hospice aides.
- Provide compassionate support and education to patients and families.
- Complete required clinical documentation.
