About The Position

Serenity Hospice PA is hiring a compassionate and dedicated Registered Nurse to provide weekend on-call hospice care to patients and families in the Wyoming Valley area. The position is based in Scranton, Pennsylvania, and follows a consistent 32-hour Friday-through-Sunday schedule, with Monday through Thursday off. The RN works with physicians, caregivers, and an interdisciplinary team to provide patient-centered care focused on comfort, dignity, and quality of life.

Requirements

• Active Pennsylvania RN license.
• Excellent communication and organizational skills.
• Compassionate, patient-centered approach.
• Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation.
• Ability to respond to patient needs during scheduled on-call hours.

Nice To Haves

• Hospice or home health experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide skilled nursing care to hospice patients.
• Respond to patient and family needs during scheduled on-call hours.
• Perform comprehensive nursing assessments and ongoing evaluations.
• Develop and implement individualized patient care plans.
• Provide symptom management and comfort-focused care.
• Educate patients and families about medications, disease progression, and hospice services.
• Collaborate with physicians, caregivers, and interdisciplinary team members.
• Maintain accurate and timely clinical documentation.
• Provide emotional support to patients and their loved ones.
• Advocate for patient comfort, dignity, and quality of life.
