Hospice RN On Call 3000 Sign on Bonus
About The Position
Serenity Hospice Pennsylvania is seeking a dedicated and compassionate On-Call Registered Nurse to provide after-hours nursing support to hospice patients and their families throughout the Wyoming Valley service area. The role includes triaging calls, responding to urgent clinical needs, conducting on-call visits, managing symptoms, and coordinating care to ensure safe, compassionate, and individualized care. The position follows a predictable schedule of seven days on and seven days off, with every other week off. During scheduled weeks, the nurse provides after-hours clinical support and care to patients and families. A $3,000 sign-on bonus is offered.
Requirements
- Current Pennsylvania Registered Nurse (RN) license.
- At least one year of nursing experience.
- Strong clinical assessment and critical-thinking skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Compassionate approach to patient and family care.
- Valid driver’s license, reliable transportation, and current automobile insurance.
Nice To Haves
- Hospice experience preferred.
Responsibilities
- Respond to after-hours calls from patients, families, and caregivers.
- Conduct on-call visits to address symptom management and urgent patient needs.
- Perform comprehensive nursing assessments and implement appropriate interventions.
- Coordinate patient care with physicians and the interdisciplinary hospice team.
- Educate and support patients and caregivers regarding hospice services, medications, and symptom management.
- Complete timely and accurate electronic clinical documentation.
- Participate in rotating on-call coverage according to the assigned schedule.
- Provide compassionate, patient-centered care that reflects each patient’s and family’s goals and wishes.
