RN Hospice On-Call Weekend Sign on Bonus
About The Position
Amedisys, part of the Optum family of businesses, provides home health, hospice, and community-based services. The Hospice RN On-Call provides after-hours clinical support, triages patient needs, and coordinates care to maintain continuity and quality outcomes. The role delivers remote and field-based nursing support, assesses patient conditions, and collaborates with interdisciplinary teams to address urgent and emergent needs. The schedule is 5 p.m. Friday through 8 a.m. Monday. The role includes educating patients and caregivers about symptom management and care plans, and maintaining timely and accurate documentation. The position offers a salary range of $75,620 to $113,430 annually based on full-time employment. Benefits are subject to eligibility requirements. Candidates must pass a drug test before beginning employment.
Requirements
- Current RN license for the state(s) assigned.
- At least 1 year of nursing experience, preferably in hospice, home health, or acute care.
- Current CPR certification.
- Valid driver's license, reliable transportation, and liability insurance.
- Pass a drug test before beginning employment.
Nice To Haves
- CNA experience within the last two years.
Responsibilities
- Provide on-call nursing support, triage patient needs, and determine appropriate interventions.
- Assess patient conditions by phone and/or through in-person visits, and escalate care as needed.
- Coordinate with physicians, care teams, and caregivers to ensure timely and effective care delivery.
- Educate patients and caregivers about symptom management and care plans.
- Maintain accurate and timely documentation of patient interactions and clinical decisions.
