About The Position

The Hospice Registered Nurse (RN) provides individualized nursing care to hospice patients to maximize comfort and quality of life. The RN works with patients, families, physicians, and the interdisciplinary care team to develop and carry out care plans, building trusted relationships while supporting patients and loved ones during delicate moments. The role includes autonomy to practice at the top of the RN’s license within a supportive, mission-driven organization.

This is a PRN role requiring availability for 4–6 shifts per month, including some after-hours on-call support. Coverage is in Indianapolis and the surrounding metro area, including Indianapolis, Lawrence, Fishers, Carmel, Brownsburg, Plainfield, and Greenwood. Compensation is $41–$44 per hour, based on experience.

Requirements

• Hold a Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of practice.
• Have at least one year of nursing experience.
• Have reliable transportation, a valid driver’s license, and appropriate auto insurance.

Responsibilities

• Provide individualized nursing care that maximizes comfort and quality of life.
• Partner with patients, families, physicians, and the interdisciplinary group to create and carry out care plans.
• Perform comprehensive physical, emotional, social, and spiritual assessments to guide care decisions.
• Educate and support patients and caregivers.
• Coordinate care across disciplines to ensure continuity and dignity.
• Document care clearly and accurately to reflect patient needs and progress.
• Participate in on-call or admission rotations as needed.
• Engage in ongoing learning and professional development.
