About The Position

Mission Hospice & Home Care is a local, independent nonprofit serving patients and families in the San Francisco Peninsula and South Bay with quality care and compassionate end-of-life support and education. Founded in 1979, the organization provides physical, emotional, and spiritual support from a life-threatening diagnosis through death and bereavement. The part-time Hospice House LVN provides direct patient care to hospice patients at the Hospice House in Redwood City. The position offers competitive pay, generous benefits, and a supportive work environment. The schedule is Monday, Thursday, Saturday, and Sunday, from 7:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. Mission Hospice & Home Care follows CDPH vaccine requirements for healthcare personnel. Requirements

Completion of a Licensed Vocational Nursing Education Program from an accredited school.
Current Licensed Vocational Nurse certification from the California Board of Vocational Nurse and Psychiatric Technician Examiners.
If driving a car, a current California Driver’s License and automobile insurance meeting State of California requirements.

Nice To Haves

Experience in a home health or hospice setting.
Valid California certification in Intravenous Therapy and Blood Withdrawal.

Responsibilities

Provide direct patient care under current nursing practice, following a comprehensive assessment and the plan of care.
Document patient care services accurately and promptly.
Assess and provide patients and their families or caregivers with education and information pertinent to the plan of care.
Participate in coordinating hospice services and report identified needs to the Program Director and interdisciplinary team.
