About The Position

BAYADA Hospice is hiring a per diem Spiritual Counselor to make visits in Washington County, Vermont. The position is part of an experienced hospice care team that provides assessments, education, and symptom management related to end-of-life care. The counselor provides spiritual and emotional support to patients and families, develops and follows clients’ spiritual care plans, and participates in bereavement services. Hospice or care experience and experience making home visits are preferred.

Requirements

• One year of experience in a spiritual counseling capacity in a health care setting, preferably hospice or palliative care.
• Willingness to travel throughout the office coverage area.

Nice To Haves

• Master of Divinity degree.
• At least one unit of Clinical Pastoral Education (CPE).
• Hospice or care experience.
• Experience making home visits.

Responsibilities

• Develop and adhere to the client's spiritual care plan.
• Provide spiritual and emotional support to patients and family members.
• Complete documentation accurately and in a timely manner.
• Be reliable and punctual, and demonstrate an appropriate attitude.
• Participate in providing bereavement services to family members, referral sources, and the community.
