About The Position

Care Initiatives Hospice is seeking a part-time Hospice Aide serving West Union, Fayette, Hampton, and surrounding areas. The aide provides personalized care to patients with life-limiting illnesses in settings where patients feel most comfortable, including private homes, long-term care communities, assisted living residences, and hospitals. The role supports patients’ physical, emotional, and spiritual needs and involves working collaboratively with family members, caregivers, and the healthcare team to honor patients’ needs and wishes with compassion, dignity, and respect.

Requirements

• Active CPR certification is required.
• Current driver's license and automobile liability insurance are required.
• Ability to travel between multiple locations within the assigned region.
• Ability to obtain Hospice Nursing Assistant Certification through CHPN within 24 months of employment.

Nice To Haves

• Experience working as a Hospice Aide, Home Health Aide, and/or Certified Nursing Assistant during the previous 24 months is preferred.
• Hospice or palliative care experience is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Support activities of daily living, including bathing, dressing, grooming, and eating.
• Provide emotional support and companionship while fostering a positive and engaging environment.
• Communicate and interact with residents, families, and the healthcare team.
• Encourage and facilitate recreational and therapeutic activities to support health and daily routines.
• Follow infection control protocols to maintain a clean and safe environment.
