About The Position

By The Bay Health, a non-profit established in 1975, set the standard for hospice in the U.S. by emphasizing the role of the patient in making important medical decisions. Our spectrum of home-based services now includes Skilled Home Health Care, Palliative Care, Adult Hospice Care and Pediatric Care. Our team approach strives to address practical, social, emotional and spiritual aspects of care, with the goal to maximize quality of life for our patients, caregivers and families. We are currently seeking a full time Hospice Aide to provide personal care services to our hospice patients. Our S.F. Team has a diverse and dedicated team of clinicians, many of whom are multilingual in English, Mandarin, Cantonese and Taishanese. We are proud to serve a wide population of monolingual Chinese speaking patients and their families with the ability to meet them where they are, providing comfort and support in their own language and cultural milieu. We strive to employ clinicians who have the passion and language/cultural skillsets to continue providing the highest level of care possible as we grow our census of culturally diverse patients.

Requirements

• Certified HHA
• Completion of an approved Home Health Aide (HHA) training program.
• Current California Driver’s License and automobile insurance that meets State of California requirements, if driving a car.

Nice To Haves

• Experience in hospice or home health preferred.
• Bilingual in English, Mandarin, Cantonese and Taishanese.

Responsibilities

• Assist patient in bathing, care of mouth, skin, and hair as needed
• Assist patient in and out of bed and with ambulation
• Turn patient in bed, position for comfort, and change bed linen
• Assist with prescribed exercises as directed
