About The Position

HopeHealth Hospice and Palliative Care is seeking an experienced Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) to provide care to hospice residents in long-term care facilities in the southern half of Rhode Island. A registered nurse plans and assigns the hospice aide’s duties to meet patient and family needs. The aide provides personal care and light housekeeping in accordance with the established plan of care.

This is a full-time position scheduled for 40 hours per week, from 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., with a rotating weekend commitment every third to fourth weekend. The position is eligible for full benefits.

Requirements

• Certified Nurse Aide certification.
• High school diploma or GED.
• 1–3 years of experience in home care and long-term care settings.

Responsibilities

• Provide personal care.
• Observe, report, and document patient status and care provided.
• Support patients, families, and caregivers through ongoing communication.
• Follow basic infection-control procedures.
• Report basic elements of body functioning and recognize and report changes in patient status to the RN Case Manager.
• Recognize emergencies and apply knowledge of emergency procedures.
• Maintain patient and family confidentiality.
• Perform light housekeeping in accordance with the established plan of care.
