About The Position

Adoration Health is seeking a passionate, dedicated Hospice CNA to provide dignity, comfort, and support to patients and families during a critical time in their lives. The role is based out of the Altoona, Pennsylvania office and covers Bedford County, including Bedford, Pennsylvania. The schedule is Monday through Friday, 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Hospice CNAs provide one-to-one care, work independently with team support, and collaborate with the hospice interdisciplinary team.

Requirements

• Meet the training requirements of the state of practice.
• Have at least six months of experience, including providing personal care.
• Be at least 18 years of age.
• Complete at least 75 hours of classroom and supervised practical training; 16 classroom hours must be completed before the required 16 hours of practical training.
• Possess and maintain current CPR certification.
• Be able to read and follow written instructions and document care provided.
• Understand hospice philosophy and be comfortable providing specialized care to terminally ill patients.
• Be able to work with little direct supervision.
• Be able to handle death and dying.
• Have strong oral and written communication skills.
• Have good organizational skills.

Responsibilities

• Assist patients with bathing, dressing, toileting, mobility, and repositioning.
• Observe patients and report changes in their condition.
• Assist with ambulation, transfers, range-of-motion exercises, and safe equipment use.
• Assist with self-administered medications in accordance with state regulations.
• Provide companionship and emotional comfort to patients and families.
• Change linens, assist with meals, and maintain a clean environment.
• Maintain accurate and timely documentation.
• Collaborate with the hospice interdisciplinary team.
