About The Position

Adoration Health is seeking a dedicated Hospice CNA to provide compassionate, one-to-one care to patients in Altoona, Pennsylvania, serving Bedford County, including Bedford. The role supports patients and families with dignity, comfort, and companionship during end-of-life care. The schedule is Monday through Friday, 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. CNAs work independently with team support and collaborate with the hospice interdisciplinary team. The position includes personal care, mobility assistance, observation and reporting, medication assistance within state regulations, light housekeeping, and documentation.

Requirements

• Meet the training requirements of the state of practice.
• At least six months of experience, including providing personal care.
• Be at least 18 years of age.
• Complete at least 75 hours of classroom and supervised practical training; 16 classroom hours must be completed before the required 16 hours of practical training.
• Hold and maintain current CPR certification.
• Ability to read and follow written instructions and document care provided.
• Understand hospice philosophy and be comfortable providing specialized care to terminally ill patients.
• Ability to work with little direct supervision and handle death and dying.
• Strong oral and written communication skills.
• Good organizational skills.

Responsibilities

• Assist patients with bathing, dressing, toileting, mobility, and repositioning.
• Observe patients and report changes in their condition.
• Assist with ambulation, transfers, range-of-motion exercises, and safe equipment use.
• Assist with self-administered medications in accordance with state regulations.
• Provide companionship and emotional comfort to patients and families.
• Change linens, assist with meals, and help maintain a clean environment.
• Maintain accurate and timely documentation.
• Collaborate with the hospice interdisciplinary team.
