About The Position
Interns learn horticultural and grounds management practices in a public garden setting, working alongside Office of Physical Plant (OPP) and Arboretum staff to manage day-to-day garden operations throughout the growing season. The internship includes an educational component with weekly on-campus sessions and off-site field trips. Positions are 40 hours per week during the employment period, for no more than 28 weeks.
Responsibilities
- Help manage day-to-day garden operations throughout the growing season.
- Install the Arboretum’s summer floral display.
- Learn and apply fine gardening techniques.
- Supervise volunteer groups.
- Receive training in the use of tools and equipment.
- Attend weekly on-campus educational sessions and off-site field trips.
