About The Position

The Honors Program is seeking a Graduate Assistant for the Academic Year 26/27. This student employment position involves facilitating Honors Signature Experience courses, organizing events, and assisting with program orientation. The role requires strong communication and interpersonal skills, proficiency in Microsoft Office, and the ability to lead discussions and problem-solve.

Requirements

  • Good interpersonal skills
  • Strong oral and written communication skills
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office including, Word, Excel and Outlook
  • Feel comfortable facilitating and initiating discussions with groups of 20 undergraduate students
  • Problem-solve should technical or scheduling conflicts arise

Responsibilities

  • Facilitate one to two Honors Signature Experience courses per semester
  • Hold meetings, take attendance, communicate with students over email, and lead discussions throughout the semester (usually scheduled on either Wednesday or Thursday evenings)
  • Attend on-campus or virtual events (occasionally scheduled on the weekends)
  • Help organize other UHP events throughout the year as needed, including the senior capstone conference
  • Assist with the Honors Program first-year orientation in August
