The Honors College maintains a vacancy pool of qualified persons interested in temporary teaching positions to instruct in a variety of general education classes in the humanities, social sciences, and natural sciences. Applications are accepted at any time, and positions may become available at any time during the academic year. Positions are normally for one course during the academic year. Classes are small, limiting at 25, maximum. The Honors College is designed for students seeking an enhanced educational experience, and though students come from a broad variety of major areas, more are in the natural sciences than any other group of fields. Students expect to be actively involved in their classes and to write, or to be involved in experimental work and research as a matter of course in their Honors classes. Faculty are expected to introduce students to the widest possible variety of approaches to subject matter typical of their fields.
