About The Position

AdvisaCare, an established Home Health/Medicare agency, is hiring full-time or part-time skilled Registered Nurses (RNs) or Licensed Practical Nurses (LPNs) to provide patient care in the Greater Muskegon area and surrounding counties of Ottawa, Muskegon, Oceana, and Mason. The parent agency is located in Portage, Michigan. The role calls for dynamic, energetic, organized, and efficient professionals who tailor care to each patient’s preferences, choices, abilities, and needs.

Nurses provide skilled home health care, including wound care (including wound vacs), drains, tubes, ostomies, tracheostomies, catheters, PleurX drains, infusions, and LVAD care. The work also includes getting to know patients, educating patients and caregivers one-on-one, and coordinating with the Home Health Team. Training is available to help nurses build skills as needed, including OASIS training for an exceptional candidate with the right skill set.

Requirements

• Current Michigan Registered Nurse (RN) or Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) license.
• Updated Tuberculin (TB) test.
• Current CPR certification.
• Clear criminal history and drug screen.
• Compassionate and caring demeanor, with a professional presentation at all times.
• Ability to travel within the service area, approximately a 30-mile radius from home.
• Critical thinking, task competence, and ability to think on your feet.
• Knowledge and skills to provide care to and communicate with people of all ages.

Nice To Haves

• At least one year of home health nursing experience is preferred.
• OASIS experience is preferred but not required.

Responsibilities

• Provide skilled nursing care to home health patients.
• Deliver care involving wound care, wound vacs, drains, tubes, ostomies, tracheostomies, catheters, PleurX drains, infusions, and LVADs.
• Provide one-on-one education to patients and their caregivers.
• Coordinate care with members of the Home Health Team.
• Travel within the AdvisaCare service area, approximately a 30-mile radius from the nurse’s home.
