About The Position

Residential Home Health and Hospice is hiring a Phlebotomist to provide home health services to patients in their homes in Elmhurst and the surrounding area. The role involves performing peripheral blood draws according to physician orders, communicating laboratory collection updates and patient results to the Registered Nurse and care team, responding to patient needs, and maintaining accurate, timely documentation in the EMR. The position works independently while remaining connected to the care team and requires travel to patient homes within an assigned territory. Approximately 20% of the workday is spent driving to and from patient locations. A valid driver’s license is required. Successful completion of a drug screen before employment is part of the background process.

Requirements

• Certification in Phlebotomy.
• High school diploma or certificate.
• Minimum one year of healthcare experience.
• Valid driver’s license.
• Ability to spend approximately 20% of the workday driving to and from patient locations.
• Successful completion of a drug screen prior to employment.

Responsibilities

• Perform peripheral blood draws in accordance with physician orders while ensuring patient comfort, safety, and professionalism.
• Communicate laboratory collection updates and report patient results promptly and accurately to the Registered Nurse and care team.
• Respond promptly to patient needs and communicate effectively with the care team.
• Maintain accurate, timely documentation in the EMR.
• Travel to patient homes within the assigned territory.
