About The Position
Right at Home is seeking dependable, compassionate Home Health Aides to provide companion and personal care to clients in Cedar Rapids, Marion, Hiawatha, Springville, and surrounding areas. Companion care may include light housekeeping, laundry assistance, transportation, medication reminders, meal preparation, and participating in activities clients enjoy, such as puzzles or games. Clients may also need assistance with walking, transfers, and exercises. Personal care includes help with bathing, dressing, toileting, and personal hygiene. The role is described as a skilled daytime position.
Requirements
- Valid Iowa driver’s license.
- Proof of car insurance.
- Pass a background check.
- Ability to be reliable and dependable.
- Desire to care for older adults and help keep them safe and independent in their homes.
Responsibilities
- Provide personal care, including showers, dressing, assisted walking, and transfers.
- Assist with feeding, medication reminders, and meal planning.
- Follow agency policies, procedures, and protocols.
- Provide companionship and engaging activities as appropriate.
- Provide transportation as needed.
- Assist with light housekeeping and laundry as part of companion care.
- Help clients participate in activities they enjoy, such as puzzles or games.
- Assist clients with exercises as needed.
