About The Position

Ovation Home Care is seeking a Home Health Aide to provide one-on-one care to clients in their homes in the Gainesville area. The aide follows individualized care plans and provides attentive, personalized assistance while building relationships with clients and supporting a healthy home environment. Strong verbal and written communication, organization, and attention to detail are important. Prior home health or hospice experience is a plus. The agency describes its mission as improving the lives of aging seniors and creating a supportive team for professional caregivers. The agency is independently owned and operated; applications and hiring decisions are handled by the agency.

Requirements

Graduate from an accredited Home Health Aide program or be able to pass the Florida Home Health Aide competency test administered before the interview.
High school diploma or GED.
More than five years of prior experience in senior caregiving.
Valid driver's license.
Proof of auto insurance with the applicant's name on the policy.
Current CPR certification from the American Heart Association that includes in-person validation of skills.
Ability to pass an AHCA background screening.
Strong verbal and written communication skills.
Detail-oriented, highly organized, and committed to creating a healthy environment that meets patient needs.

Prior home health or hospice experience.

Responsibilities

Assist patients with daily activities, including transferring in and out of beds, baths, wheelchairs, and automobiles.
Change bed linens, do laundry, clean the home, prepare meals, and assist with personal care.
Maintain records of client care, condition, progress, and problems, and report and discuss observations with a supervisor.
Build relationships with patients through conversation or reading aloud to support their mental health and alertness.
Give medication reminders.
Engage patients in exercises or other activities.
