About The Position

The HME Centralized Intake Representative supports primary care, specialist, and midlevel providers in selecting appropriate home and respiratory medical equipment for referred patients based on medical documentation. The representative educates referral sources and provides guidance on deficient documentation to help prevent delays or disruptions to patient care. The role is responsible for meeting patient-discharge timeframes and communicating with referral sources when OSF HME cannot meet delivery expectations. The representative works with HME leadership to help services run efficiently and interacts with positions throughout the HME operational infrastructure. This position is located in Ottawa, Illinois.

Requirements

High school graduate or equivalent.
1 year of customer service experience.
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
Solid computer skills, including proficiency with Microsoft software.
Ability to work independently and execute own workload.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with attention to detail.

Nice To Haves

Ability to educate and operate home medical equipment.
1 year of home medical equipment experience.
Knowledge of reimbursement and regulatory requirements for HME.
Prior experience working with healthcare government and accrediting agency body guidelines.
Knowledge of ICD-9 and related HCPC codes.

Responsibilities
