About The Position

Histology Technologist - Full-Time, Evenings. This position is in the Anatomic Pathology Department and involves frozen section assistance, special stains, and immunohistochemistry. The technologist will follow laboratory procedures for specimen collection, handling, and processing, assist with surgical pathology dissection, cut and stain quality frozen sections within 20 minutes of receipt, perform embedding, perform special stains, evaluate stains, and provide notification when supplies need to be ordered. Texas Health Dallas is a Magnet-designated, full-service hospital serving the Dallas community since 1966, specializing in cancer care, cardiology, neurosciences, women’s services, and emergency medicine. It is a Comprehensive Stroke Center, Level I Trauma Center, Comprehensive Heart Attack Center, and a designated Magnet hospital.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or equivalent required
  • HT (ASCP) Histotechnician required within 6 months from hire
  • HTL (ASCP) Histotechnologist required within 6 months from hire

Nice To Haves

  • Associate Degree preferred
  • Bachelor's Degree in Medical Technology, Clinical Lab Science or Chemical, Physical or Biological Science preferred
  • One-year experience in histopathology preferred
