About The Position

This position serves the public by working to make the roads in Ohio safer. The selected candidate will be placed in the classification in which they meet minimum qualifications. Responsibilities include performing highway maintenance activities such as flagging, pothole patching, repairing guardrails, litter pickup, and mowing. The role also involves performing snow and ice operations. Training will be provided to obtain CDL licensure if not already a licensed CDL holder.

Requirements

  • Highway Maintenance Worker 1: Formal education in arithmetic that includes addition & subtraction & in reading, writing & speaking common English vocabulary.
  • Highway Technician 1: Formal education in arithmetic that includes addition & subtraction & decimals, percentages & fractions; ability to read, write & speak common English vocabulary; 3 mos. trg. or 3 mos. exp. in operation of basic equipment.
  • Must obtain Class B Commercial Drivers License with tanker endorsement without airbrake restriction.
  • Valid Class B Commercial Driver’s License with tanker endorsement without airbrake restriction.
