About The Position

This is a PERMANENT Highway Maintenance Worker 1 (HMW1) or Highway Technician 1 (HT1), (Full Time) position in Montgomery County - Moraine Garage, working the 3rd Shift. The selected candidate will be placed in the classification in which they meet minimum qualifications. The role involves serving the public and working to make the roads in Ohio safer. Responsibilities include attending training to obtain CDL licensure if not already licensed, performing highway maintenance activities such as flagging, pothole patching, repairing guardrails, litter pickup, and mowing, and performing snow & ice operations.
Requirements
- Formal education in arithmetic that includes addition & subtraction & in reading, writing & speaking common English vocabulary.
- Must obtain Class B Commercial Driver's License with tanker endorsement without airbrake restriction.
- Formal education in arithmetic that includes addition & subtraction & decimals, percentages & fractions; ability to read, write & speak common English vocabulary; 3 mos. trg. or 3 mos. exp. in operation of basic equipment.
- Valid Class B Commercial Driver’s License with tanker endorsement without airbrake restriction.
Responsibilities
- Serve the public and work to make the roads in Ohio safer.
- Attend training to obtain CDL licensure; if not already a licensed CDL holder.
- Perform highway maintenance activities; including flagging, pothole patching, repairing guardrails, litter pickup, mowing.
- Perform snow & ice operations.
