About The Position

The selected candidate will be placed in the classification in which they meet minimum qualifications. The role involves serving the public by working to make the roads in Ohio safer. This includes performing highway maintenance activities such as flagging, pothole patching, repairing guardrails, litter pickup, and mowing, as well as participating in snow and ice operations. Training will be provided to obtain a CDL licensure if the candidate is not already a licensed CDL holder.

Requirements

• For Highway Maintenance Worker 1: Formal education in arithmetic that includes addition & subtraction & in reading, writing & speaking common English vocabulary.
• Must obtain Class B Commercial Drivers License with tanker endorsement without airbrake restriction.
• For Highway Technician 1: Formal education in arithmetic that includes addition & subtraction & decimals, percentages & fractions; ability to read, write & speak common English vocabulary; 3 mos. trg. or 3 mos. exp. in operation of basic equipment.
• Valid Class B Commercial Driver’s License with tanker endorsement without airbrake restriction.
