About The Position

The High School Premier Substitute Teacher reports to BCHS every school day and substitutes in classrooms as needed. The role includes instruction and supervision of students, classroom management, serving as a role model, and using formative assessment. When substitute coverage is not needed, administration may assign other duties.

Requirements

• Michigan certification and endorsement for appropriate grade levels.
• Must meet all NCLB qualifications.

Responsibilities

• Report to BCHS every school day and substitute in classrooms as needed.
• Provide instruction and supervise students.
• Use classroom management skills.
• Serve as a role model for students.
• Utilize and understand formative assessment.
• Help monitor hallways and school grounds.
• Participate in after-school and extracurricular activities.
• Keep accurate classroom records.
• Attend conferences and workshops to stay current.
• Work as a team member.
• Perform other duties assigned by administration when substitute coverage is not needed.
