About The Position

Duxbury High School is seeking a building-based Substitute Teacher for the 2026–2027 academic year. The position provides continuity of instruction when regular teachers are absent, implements teacher-created lesson plans, supports student learning across settings, and performs other instructional-day duties as assigned. The school serves 800 students and has 160 staff members. Duxbury Public Schools emphasizes affirming students’ identities and maintaining a welcoming, inclusive learning and work environment free from discrimination and retaliation.

Requirements

• Associate degree.
• Experience working with students with and without disabilities.
• Flexibility and ability to collaborate with students, teachers, support staff, and administrators.

Nice To Haves

• Massachusetts Department of Elementary and Secondary Education Teacher Certification is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide continuity of instruction in the absence of the regular teacher.
• Implement lesson plans created by the teacher.
• Fulfill other non-instructional duties during the instructional day.
• Support student learning across all settings.
• Perform other duties as assigned by the building administrator or their designee.
