About The Position

This position involves teaching high school French courses. The teacher will employ a variety of teaching methods to engage different learning styles and ability levels, preparing motivating and stimulating lessons that reflect knowledge of the curriculum, child development, and students’ varying abilities. The role encourages an inclusive classroom that accepts different perspectives and backgrounds, nurturing students to be globally minded. Effective communication with parents, colleagues, and administrators is essential, as is the utilization of assessments and student data to inform instruction. The teacher will create a positive and engaging learning environment with clear expectations for classwork, homework, and assessments, while maintaining a culture of literacy and inquiry. Responsibilities include meeting grade reporting deadlines, maintaining substitute plans, and engaging in continuous professional development, including IB training. The teacher will also participate in professional goal setting and review, attend faculty meetings, and work effectively in a multicultural environment. Technology integration to enhance learning tasks is expected. Federal fingerprint background checks through MACHS and registration with the Family Care Safety Registry are required prior to or shortly after assuming classroom responsibilities.

Requirements

Bachelor's degree (or equivalent) in Education, Foreign Language Education or field related to the assigned content area (i.e. Teaching French Language).
Hold or be eligible for a Missouri Teaching Certificate, or, for non-US degreed candidates (Licence/Diploma), have valid credentials to teach in home country in accordance with MO Revised Statutes 160.420.
Demonstrated ability to teach assigned content in French (native or near-native proficiency in French).
Demonstrated effective classroom management skills.
