This position involves teaching high school French courses. The teacher will employ a variety of teaching methods to engage different learning styles and ability levels, preparing motivating and stimulating lessons that reflect knowledge of the curriculum, child development, and students’ varying abilities. The role encourages an inclusive classroom that accepts different perspectives and backgrounds, nurturing students to be globally minded. Effective communication with parents, colleagues, and administrators is essential, as is the utilization of assessments and student data to inform instruction. The teacher will create a positive and engaging learning environment with clear expectations for classwork, homework, and assessments, while maintaining a culture of literacy and inquiry that supports critical thinking. Responsibilities include meeting grade reporting deadlines, maintaining substitute plans, engaging in professional development (including IB training), and participating in professional goal setting and review processes. Active participation in faculty meetings and effective communication in a multicultural environment are also key. The role requires managing multiple tasks efficiently and integrating technology to enhance learning. Federal fingerprint background checks and registration with the Family Care Safety Registry are required.
