About The Position

KIPP Jacksonville Public Schools seeks a High School English Language Arts Teacher for an immediate opening at KIPP Bold City High School, located at the McDuff campus in Jacksonville, Florida. The role is for the 2026–2027 school year. Teachers are responsible for at least one subject area and for creating a positive classroom environment, implementing curriculum, assessing students, collaborating with their team, building relationships with families, and performing other duties as assigned. Full teacher responsibilities are ultimately outlined by the school leader. KIPP Bold City’s vision is to be a high school built on student voice and choice. The school offers honors and Advanced Placement classes, career and technical education, extracurriculars, and sports, with classes selected based on student and family interests. As the school grows, it plans to add career tracks and Dual Enrollment. Teachers should align with the school’s student voice and choice philosophy and be flexible in responding to students’ interests. The high school model may change as grade levels are added. Core subject areas include science, history, ELA, and math. High school lead teachers will likely have a homeroom and teach several classes in their subject area, although teaching loads may vary. Electives are selected by the school leader based on student interest and teacher certification areas. Teachers work Monday through Friday; high school staff hours are 6:45 a.m. to 3:45 p.m., with occasional meetings or special events outside those hours. Wednesdays include early student dismissal for professional development and content team meetings, except Wellness Wednesdays, when staff leave at student dismissal. Compensation is competitive and commensurate with experience. The stated current starting salary for a first-year lead teacher is $50,000. Lead teachers receive individualized coaching and professional development. The school’s compensation and benefits offerings are subject to change each school year, with terms outlined in an offer letter if issued.
