About The Position

Freire Schools is seeking a High School Chemistry Teacher for TECH Freire Charter School in north Philadelphia. This role involves implementing high-quality, standards-aligned curriculum to drive rigorous instruction, critical thinking, and high achievement in the classroom. The teacher will foster a classroom environment grounded in critical thinking, academic rigor, mutual respect, and high expectations for all students. They will also maintain communication with families, engage in professional development, and collaborate with colleagues. Teachers at Freire Charter High School have the opportunity to be CREW Leaders, co-leading a class focused on SEL and community building twice a week.

Requirements

Bachelor’s degree required
Valid state teaching certification, or a clear ability and commitment to obtain certification
Strong content-area knowledge and instructional skill
Positive, solution-oriented mindset with a work ethic and collaborative spirit
Minimum of two years of successful experience working with diverse student populations
