Manage the front desk of the high school administrative offices.
Requirements
High School diploma.
Strong knowledge of technology preferred.
Alternative to the above qualification as the Superintendent and/or Board of Education may find appropriate.
Responsibilities
Manage office “traffic” by performing such activities as locating information, directing people to the appropriate staff members and assisting students with telephone calls.
Schedule central detentions for students, using information provided by the Assistant Principal’s office.
Schedule extended school detentions for students who fail to dress for physical education.
Call parents to remind them of students’ obligations to attend extended school detentions; enter extended school data into the computer.
Collect student fees, including parking fees, and collect money and permission forms for special events, such as the senior trip.
Issue receipts.
Deposit money in the bank daily; prepare daily and monthly financial reports for the Treasurer’s office.
Distribute report cards and progress reports to students.
Supervise the lunch room, daily.
Type work permits for students.
Maintain the confidentiality of information that is not public domain.
Assist with other clerical and secretarial duties as appropriate; for example, answering telephones, copying and faxing documents, distributing medication to students.
Maintain an appropriate personal appearance.
Observe all safety and health regulations of the school district.
Maintain a neat, attractive office environment.
Serve as a role model for students in the practice of ethical principles, responsible behavior and democratic values.
Perform other duties as assigned by the Principal.
