About The Position

The Skilled Technician performs vehicle repair and maintenance according to dealership and factory standards, building customer loyalty by developing trust and confidence in AutoNation’s care for vehicle safety and reliability. The role involves diagnosing vehicle malfunctions, completing authorized repairs, conducting multi-point inspections, and documenting work. Technicians coordinate with the Parts Department and Service Advisors, maintain their normal technician tools, keep current with factory technical bulletins, and participate in factory-sponsored training as appropriate. Performance is measured by targeted production and Customer Satisfaction Index. Certified Plus technicians may earn up to $46.00 per flat-rate hour, based on experience level. A sign-on bonus of up to $10,000 is available for qualified technicians.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• At least 2 years of experience as an automotive technician.
• Automotive technical training, varying based on store needs.
• Attention to detail.
• Organization and follow-up skills.
• Valid in-state driver's license and an acceptable, safe driving record that is maintained.
• Land Rover / Jaguar certifications.
• Passion for cars and customer service.

Responsibilities

• Perform vehicle repair and maintenance as outlined on repair orders, efficiently and accurately, in accordance with dealership and factory standards.
• Communicate regularly with the Parts Department and Service Advisors to manage production and customer communication.
• Diagnose the cause of vehicle malfunctions and perform repairs when authorized by the customer.
• Conduct multi-point inspections and make appropriate recommendations to support customer vehicle safety and reliability.
• Document work performed on each vehicle on the repair order.
• Maintain an inventory of normal technician tools not inventoried by the Service Department as special tools.
• Keep abreast of factory technical bulletins and participate in factory-sponsored training as appropriate.
• Provide an exceptional customer experience to drive loyalty.
