About The Position

The Skilled Technician performs vehicle repair and maintenance in accordance with dealership and factory standards. The role builds Customer loyalty by developing trust and ensuring confidence in AutoNation as a caregiver for vehicle safety and reliability. Technicians use factory training and tools, keep current with technical bulletins, and provide an exceptional customer experience. Compensation includes production bonus rates retroactive to hour one: $2.00 at 40 hours, $2.50 at 50 hours, $2.50 at 60 hours, and $3.00 at 70 hours. Qualified technicians may receive a sign-on bonus of up to $10,000. Certified Plus Technicians may be paid up to $46.00 per flat-rate hour, based on experience level. Career growth opportunities include Master-Certified Technician, Service Advisor, and Service Management roles.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• At least 2 years of experience as an automotive technician.
• Automotive technical training, varying based on store needs.
• Attention to detail.
• Organization and follow-up skills.
• Valid in-state driver's license and an acceptable, safe driving record that can be maintained.
• Land Rover / Jaguar certifications.
• Valid driver's license.
• Passion for cars and customer service.

Responsibilities

• Perform vehicle repair and maintenance work outlined on repair orders efficiently and accurately, in accordance with dealership and factory standards.
• Communicate regularly with the Parts Department and Service Advisors to manage production and customer communication.
• Diagnose malfunctions and perform repairs when authorized by the customer.
• Conduct multi-point inspections and make recommendations to support vehicle safety and reliability.
• Document work performed on each vehicle on the repair order.
• Maintain an inventory of normal technician tools not normally inventoried by the Service Department as special tools.
• Keep abreast of factory technical bulletins and participate in factory-sponsored training classes as appropriate.
• Provide an exceptional customer experience to drive loyalty.
