About The Position

County Fleet Maintenance (CFM), Warwickshire County Council’s in-house vehicle maintenance operation, services, maintains and repairs vehicles for the Council’s fleet, other public sector organisations and external customers. The HGV Technician will work on a varied fleet that includes heavy commercial vehicles, fire appliances and high-performance cars. A significant part of the work supports emergency services, helping keep essential vehicles safe, reliable and ready for action. The role is based in Warwick, is permanent and is 37 hours per week. The postholder will work to high standards and have opportunities to develop technical skills through exposure to a diverse range of specialist and commercial vehicles. The role also offers the opportunity to participate in the out-of-hours emergency standby service. An NPPV check is required because the role involves frequent and uncontrolled access to government assets.

Requirements

• Hold a full UK driving licence.
• Be willing to participate in the out-of-hours emergency standby service.
• Be flexible and comfortable undertaking a varied range of duties.
• An NPPV check is required for appointment.
