About The Position

Dignity Health Medical Group - Arizona is seeking a full-time Hepatobiliary and Pancreatic Surgery Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant in Phoenix, Arizona. In collaboration with the physician/medical director, the NP/PA assumes clinical responsibility for tasks performed within their scope of practice. This role is responsible for delivering care to oncology patients admitted to St. Joseph Hospital and Medical Center (SJHMC) and patients seen by the DHCI Oncology Program. The NP/PA will work in collaboration with the attending surgeon, performing new and established patient evaluations, performing procedures, reviewing pretreatment teaching, recommending therapeutic interventions, counseling patients and families, and collaborating with appropriate physicians to provide other appropriate direct care interventions within the scope of practice and in collaboration with the Hepatobiliary and Pancreatic Surgeon. The work will be performed in both outpatient and inpatient settings. The NP/PA will serve as the primary point of contact and assume responsibilities for managing patient care.

Requirements

  • Master's Degree in nursing required.
  • Graduate of accredited program for nurse practitioners.
  • Three years clinical experience in healthcare.
  • AZ RN license or RN License from a Compact State.
  • Registered in AZ as nurse practitioner.
  • Hold and maintain national certification in NP area, under AZ regulations.
  • American Heart Association BCLS.

Responsibilities

  • Assumes clinical responsibility for tasks performed within Nurse Practitioner's scope of practice in collaboration with the physician/medical director.
  • Delivers care to oncology patients admitted to St. Joseph Hospital and Medical Center (SJHMC) and patients seen by the DHCI Oncology Program.
