About The Position

This is a W2 Contract position for a Cardiovascular Surgery-NP/PA in Redding, CA. The role involves both inpatient and outpatient services, with coverage from July 13-16. The schedule includes clinical duties with 10-hour shifts (7 am-5 pm) including weekends, and night call (5 pm-7 am) with minimal callback. The patient volume is typically less than 10 patients in the hospital at a time, with follow-up clinic seeing up to 6 patients. The position also involves assisting with other thoracic cases, daily morning rounds, and writing notes on post-operative patients, which may be a shared duty with surgeons. Approximately 10-11 heart surgeries are performed per month. Rounding is included.

Requirements

Active CA License
BC (Board Certified)
ACLS, BLS certifications
DEA license
Clean record
Availability for the specified dates
Self-Query NPDB report (dated within 30 days)
Active/current staff at a TJC accredited facility with unrestricted privileges.
Recent and substantial cardiovascular surgical assist experience
EVH experience

Responsibilities

Assist with other thoracic cases.
Perform morning rounds.
Write notes on post-operative patients (shared duty with surgeons).
Conduct follow-up clinic on Tuesdays and Thursdays (after morning surgery), seeing up to 6 patients.
See patients at other times if an issue arises that cannot wait until the next clinic day.
Provide clinical coverage and be on call during specified periods.
