About The Position
The Hemodialysis Technician is an unlicensed health care provider who assists the Registered Nurse, within the technician’s scope of practice, in caring for patients undergoing hemodialysis treatment. The role includes maintaining and disinfecting dialysis equipment, ordering and stocking supplies needed for inpatient dialysis treatment, and monitoring and cleaning the supply area. Other duties may be assigned. This is a full-time day-shift position at St. Mary’s Kankakee in Kankakee, Illinois, with a listed schedule of 7:00 a.m. to 7:30 p.m.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Current BLS certificate upon hire and maintain current.
- Hemodialysis Technician Certification (CCHT), or equivalent training.
Nice To Haves
- One year of hemodialysis experience preferred.
Responsibilities
- Assist the Registered Nurse in caring for patients undergoing hemodialysis treatment, within scope of practice.
- Maintain and disinfect dialysis equipment.
- Order and stock supplies needed for inpatient dialysis treatment.
- Monitor and clean the supply area.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
