About The Position

The Hemodialysis Trainee is an entry-level position for the Hemodialysis Technician role. Under the supervision of an RN and, during the orientation period, a preceptor, the trainee initiates, monitors, and discontinues outpatient hemodialysis treatments. The trainee has 18 months from the hire date to pass the National Hemodialysis Technician Certification Exam. Scheduling and payment for the exam are the employee’s responsibility.

Requirements

• High school graduate.
• Pass the National Hemodialysis Technician Certification Exam within 18 months of hire.

• Prior health care experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Initiate outpatient hemodialysis treatments under RN supervision and, during orientation, preceptor supervision.
• Monitor outpatient hemodialysis treatments under RN supervision and, during orientation, preceptor supervision.
• Discontinue outpatient hemodialysis treatments under RN supervision and, during orientation, preceptor supervision.
