About The Position
This is a Locum Tenens position for a Hematology & Oncology Physician in Las Cruces, NM. The role involves both inpatient and outpatient services, including clinical duties and call coverage. The physician will provide new patient consultations, follow-up visits, manage chemotherapy patients, and offer inpatient consultation services. The position requires participation in weekend and weekday night call. Collaboration with other specialists like radiation oncology, clinical pharmacists, and the tumor board is expected for comprehensive cancer care.
Requirements
- Board Certified or Board Eligible (BC/BE)
- Valid New Mexico (NM) medical license
- Active DEA license
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
Responsibilities
- Provide outpatient hematology/oncology care including new patient consultations and follow-up visits.
- Manage chemotherapy patients, including supervising chemo suite and responding to RN questions.
- Provide inpatient consultation services as needed for ED consults.
- Participate in weekend call coverage (24-hour call) and weekday night call.
- Collaborate with radiation oncology, pharmacists, and tumor board for comprehensive cancer care.
