Hematology Oncology Advanced Practice Provider (NP/PA)
About The Position
Prime Healthcare Illinois Medical Group is seeking a Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant to join its Hematology/Oncology team at St. Mary of Nazareth Hospital in Chicago, Illinois. The role provides comprehensive cancer care to a diverse patient population in a collaborative, patient-centered environment. The provider delivers direct care in outpatient Hematology/Oncology settings under physician supervision, working with physicians, nurses, and other members of the care team. The position is full-time on the day shift. Compensation is estimated at $125,000–$140,000 annually, with the exact offer determined based on factors including skills, applicable experience, education, credentials, and licensure.
Requirements
- Licensed as a Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant in Illinois.
- Certification as an Adult-Gerontology or Family Nurse Practitioner (AGNP/FNP), or PA-C certification.
- BLS and ACLS certifications.
- Excellent communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills.
Nice To Haves
- Oncology nursing experience is strongly preferred; new graduates with an oncology RN background may be considered.
- Bilingual skills, especially Spanish or Ukrainian, are a plus.
Responsibilities
- Provide direct patient care in outpatient Hematology/Oncology settings under physician supervision.
- Conduct comprehensive assessments, develop treatment plans, and manage care for oncology and hematology patients.
- Order and interpret diagnostic tests, prescribe medications, and monitor treatment response.
- Educate patients and families about diagnoses, treatment options, side effects, and ongoing care.
- Collaborate with physicians, nurses, and other care team members to coordinate patient-centered care.
- Maintain accurate and timely medical documentation using EMR systems.
