About The Position

Environmental Air Systems (EAS), a full-service mechanical contractor, is seeking Helpers for its manufacturing shop in High Point, North Carolina. The role is on first shift and includes varied tasks depending on the assigned department. Helpers may assist with cleaning, machinery operation, welding, plumbing or pipefitting, ductwork, carpentry, or electrical work. The role offers opportunities to learn skilled trades and develop a career path.

The current opening is for a helper interested in learning to weld. Training takes place at the High Point shop, with an opportunity to relocate to a new facility in Asheboro, North Carolina.

Requirements

• Reading and speaking proficiency in either English or Spanish.
• At least a high school education or equivalent.
• Ability to read a tape measure.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Strong verbal communication skills.
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.
• Ability to stoop, bend, crawl, and climb ladders throughout the shift.
• Ability to stand and work for prolonged periods.
• Ability to work in varying heat and cold, where noise levels are at or above 90 decibels.

Nice To Haves

• Previous experience in a manufacturing or construction environment.
• Ability to read blueprints.

Responsibilities

• Assist trades employees in the assigned department as directed, such as welders, pipefitters, and electricians.
• Handle material.
• Use power tools such as circular saws, drills, and reciprocating saws.
• Work safely and follow safety rules and policies.
• Work in a fast-paced team environment.
