About The Position

Walashek Industrial & Marine Inc. is seeking a detail-oriented, outgoing, dependable Helper for an established marine and industrial repair company. Applicants will be tested on their skill level and scheduled for an interview at the company office. The role supports crews with general work, including cleaning, debris removal, and handling materials, in shipyard or industrial settings. The position requires familiarity with hand and power tools, shop tools and equipment, measuring materials, and following instructions and lock-out/tag-out procedures.

Requirements

Required work experience in a shipyard or industrial work environment.
Ability to read a tape measure.
General knowledge of hand and power tools.
General knowledge of shop tools and equipment.
Ability to follow instructions.
Ability to comprehend lock-out/tag-out procedures.
Strong work ethic, self-motivation, and ability to multitask.
Understanding of work processes for measuring materials.
Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with ongoing deadlines.
Understanding of the ship repair industry.
Must be eligible for RAPID Gate/DBIDS and TWIX credentials.

Responsibilities

Perform general work in support of crews, including cleaning and debris removal.
Handle materials and assist with measuring materials according to work processes.
Use hand and power tools and general shop tools and equipment.
Follow instructions and understand lock-out/tag-out procedures.
Perform other duties as assigned.
