About The Position

This entry-level position assists operators engaged in processing materials in a production facility. The helper supports work at the coil-loading and packaging ends of the production line, builds pallets and shipping containers, bands and palletizes metal coils or sheets, applies tags and labels, and performs product quality checks. The role also involves moving materials, reading production orders, wrapping and unwrapping materials, maintaining housekeeping in work areas, and operating a sit-down forklift. The employee is expected to meet production goals while following safety requirements and to perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements

Must be 18 years or older.
Ability to safely operate a forklift; training and certification are provided regardless of previous experience.
Ability to read documents, interpret facts, and draw conclusions.
Basic math, reading, and writing skills.
Good communication, organization, and time-management skills.
High school diploma or GED equivalent.

Responsibilities

Assist operators at the coil-loading and packaging ends of the line and as needed.
Build pallets and shipping containers using hand and power tools.
Band and palletize metal coils and/or metal sheets, and place tags or labels on finished products.
Perform quality checks to verify product lengths, widths, and weights using the proper tools.
Detect and report faulty operations or defective materials.
Move or carry parts, equipment, or materials.
Read and understand production orders.
Wrap and unwrap materials.
Maintain housekeeping in work areas.
Operate a sit-down forklift.
Achieve production goals while complying with all safety requirements.
Perform other duties as requested, directed, or assigned.
