About The Position

As a Filler/Helper, you are responsible for operating, setting up, changing over, assisting with, or tending to machines that package paint safely, consistently, and efficiently. Requirements

High school diploma or GED certificate.
Ability to accurately read and enter computer data.
Strong communication and organizational skills.
Ability to consistently lift 75 pounds.

Nice To Haves

One or more years of industry-related work experience is preferred but not required.
Exposure to quality programs.
Knowledge of or experience in the paint, coatings, or chemical industry.
Experience with a continuous-process discipline such as Six Sigma, Lean, or TQM in a manufacturing environment.
Previous experience with safety programs.

Responsibilities

Observe machine operations to ensure filled or packaged products meet quality standards.
Adjust machine components, tension, and pressure to suit the product size or processing angle.
Operate or tend to machines that package products.
Remove finished packaged items from machines and separate rejected items.
Regulate machine flow, speed, or temperature.
Stop or reset machines when malfunctions occur, clear jams, and report malfunctions to a supervisor.
Secure finished packaged items by hand tying, sewing, gluing, stapling, or attaching fasteners.
Stock and sort products for packaging or filling machine operation and replenish supplies such as wrapping paper, plastic sheet, boxes, cartons, glue, ink, or labels.
Inspect products and packaging materials and remove defective items.
Clean and remove damaged or inferior materials to prepare raw products for processing.
